Just thought I'd forward this story. I play in men's leagues and back a few years ago I developed a little superstition related to tape. One night in the locker room, one of the guys was taping the blade of his stick with green cloth tape. The green tape was then borrowed by another to do his blade and pretty soon most of the guys had their blades done with it. I always use friction tape for my blades but for some reason I felt that I had to have some of this green tape on my stick as well. So what I did was put a single strip of the green tape around my shaft just below the knob at the end of my stick. That night we wound up winning the game 7-6 and I had 5 goals. I am pretty much a goal a game kind of player, so for me to get 5 in a game was really something. I figured it had to be the green tape. After that game I put a stripe of the green tape below the knobs of each of my sticks. About a year ago, I was going through a bit of a slump where I hadn't scored in a number of games. I decided that the luck of the green tape must have run out. Now I have a strip of red tape where the green tape used to be and I'm back to my goal a game pace.
